Member Events
We offer a wide variety of activities for all our members. These Include 7 leagues, social events as well as tournaments geared to all levels of skill and competition. The easiest way to gain a sense of belonging to your club is to participate in these events.
All events are announced in the newsletter and sign up sheets can be found on the bulletin boards in the lounge. Also, the pro shop will be happy to explain the event in detail to you so you can decide if it is an event that suits your taste. Once again, there are events for even the absolute novice.
The Events
 |
Match PlayThe oldest form of golf where you play head to head against your opponent. The event is a season long play down for gentlemen, ladies, intermediates and mixed.
The sign up gets posted early in the spring. Participants have two weeks to play each match. A champion is crowned in late August. All matches are handicapped and are a great way to meet other members. |
 |
President's CupA two-person team plays net best ball (medal play)
against another two-person team. It is a season long play down similar to the match play layout with divisions for ladies, gentlemen, and intermediates.
The sign up sheet goes up in early spring and fills up quickly. All members are handicapped. |
 |
Beat the ProsChallenge any of our professional staff to a game. You
get 70% of your handicap playing match play. If you win
a match you qualify for the year end tournament. Try as
many times as you like as your best results count. |
 |
Sutton OpenRoughly once a month on a Sunday morning the Pro
Shop conducts a tournament geared at providing a
little competition and a chance for you to play with
someone new. This is a handicapped event and all
teams are decided by blind draw. |
 |
The Lou Garrison Memorial Pro/AmWe do this event to the nines in honour of our first golf
professional Mr. Lou Garrison. Use your handicap and
play on a team with a golf professional competing for a
huge prize table. We end the day with the Chef’s
gourmet dinner. |
 |
The Senior InvitationalA truly special event. After the competition and dinner
we honour a senior golfer who has contributed to junior
amateur golf. Past honourees include hall of famers
Ed Ervasti and Nick Weslock. |
 |
The Ladies InvitationalFrom the time our back shop staff dressed in bow ties
meets the ladies in the parking it is easy to tell a day of
pampering lies ahead. On top of that there is golf, prizes
and chef’s dinner. |
 |
The Mixed InvitationalCouples from far and wide converge on Sutton Creek to
test their golf skills (and the strength of their marriage).
A scotch two ball is followed by dinner and prizes. |
 |
The Club ChampionshipThe most important weekend of the year. The
tournament features many flights so all members can
compete. The pro shop team is dressed in tuxedoes
for the final round and over 100 people back the balcony
cheering on the final groups. |
 |
The Junior/AdultThe official wrap up to our junior program. We start
with nine holes of alternate shots followed by a BBQ
and awards for the entire junior season. |
 |
The Ryder CupThe rivalry is old and the format is traditional. Three
days of fun team competition.
|
 |
The CalcuttaA weekend of gambling - say no more! |

Season CloserWe celebrate a great golf season with a huge party and
